B.F.A. Portfolio

This is a catalog of my Bachelor of Fine Arts Thesis work completed in the Spring of 2005.

Artist’s Statement The flora and fauna of the natural world inspires me. Within this series, I combine my love for nature with my interest in history and vintage costume jewelry to create jewelry that is lighthearted and humorous.

Wax carving is essential in the creation of my work; using two dimensional images as well as three dimensional forms as references I attempt to render proportionally accurate, highly detailed carvings that act as the central focus of each piece. These forms are combined with non-metal elements to create surfaces that are detailed, layered and rich.
